Washington, D.C.- Rep. Osborne encourages seniors interested in getting a jump-start on how to save on their prescription drugs using the Medicare-endorsed drug discount cards to call 1-800-Medicare or visit their website at www.Medicare.gov today. Both educational tools provide complete customized information, based on the particular needs of each senior, about the differences in drug coverage, pharmacy participation and prices among the available cards.
To further assist seniors who may have questions about the cards available, Rep. Osborne will be hosting two Medicare forums in Columbus and North Platte on May 3rd and May 7th, respectively.
"I look forward to visiting with seniors at the forums in Columbus and North Platte about the new Medicare drug discount cards available for use as soon as June 1, 2004. Ultimately, seniors will save an average of 10-25% percent on their prescription drugs, but questions currently remain about the Medicare-endorsed drug discount cards available. Three expert panelists at the forums will be available to explain the new Medicare law and answer seniors' questions. Tim Trysla, a policy adviser at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services which is the agency responsible for administering the Medicare program, will be the featured speaker at both forums."
In Columbus, the Medicare forum will be held at Central Community College in the Theater in the Fine Arts Center on Monday, May 3rd, from 1:30 P.M. -3:30 P.M. The second Medicare forum in North Platte will take place Friday, May 7, 2004, at the Sandhills Convention Center in the South Platte River Room from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. For more information, please contact Rep. Osborne's Grand Island office at 308-381-5555.
