(Lincoln, NE) – Beginning January 2, 2007, Nebraska residents wishing to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit will be able to do so. Applicants who have completed an approved Handgun Training & Safety Course, and completed a Concealed Handgun Permit Application, can present the application and necessary documentation in person during normal business hours to the Criminal Identification Division (CID) Office in Lincoln or any Troop Area Headquarters outside of Lincoln. Permit applicants can expect to receive their permit in the mail in approximately 10 days to two weeks.
Person’s applying for a Concealed Handgun Permit will need to bring with them: • A completed & notarized Application Form • Proper Identification • Proof of Training • Proof of Citizenship • Proof of Vision • Permit Fee

The Nebraska Unicameral passed LB454 which created the Concealed Handgun Permit Act. An individual may obtain a permit to carry a concealed handgun in accordance with the Concealed Handgun Permit Act.
